Why you need images on your service business website
Customers want to know you’re a good business and deliver good service.
Every image you use must serve a purpose, don’t include filler images to brighten up the page.
You don’t need many images for a service business website. However, it is good to show images for all the main jobs you do. Show each customer you do the type of work they need doing.

More details about the images you need

Who we are images
Your customers want to meet the team of people they will deal with if they use your services. If you’re a freelancer, this is you. If you run a larger business, you might have different departments that deal with different types of customer.
Show the customer that your staff are friendly, professional, and approachable.
If your staff arrive at the customers premises driving sign written vans and wearing uniforms, include a photo of your staff in uniform and your sign written van, so the customer knows what to expect.

How to find us images
If the customer comes to your premises, make it easy for them to find you by including a photo of your shop front or your premises.
Examples of our work & what’s it like to work with us images
If you can photograph the service or product you deliver, such as interior decorating or roof repairs, this is easy.
However, if your product is intangible, such as staff training or search engine optimization, you’ll have to think harder.
If you can, take photos of your staff delivering the training. The customer wants to know what happens in those training sessions, so do your best to show them. Make the person reading your web page feel like they’re in that training session.
If you stand at the front and deliver a lecture to thirty people, show that in your photos. If you work one on one with individual clients, show that in your photos.
If you can’t show photos, can you show screenshots?
For instance, a web designer or graphic designer could show screenshots of the websites or book covers they’ve designed.
If you’re an SEO professional, you could include a screenshot from Google analytics showing the client’s page views going up over time.
What do customers want to know before employing you? Show images that allay fears and answer customers questions.
Happy customer images
You do not want to scare people away from giving you testimonials.
But, if you have raving fans who supply a photo, their testimonial will be more powerful. You might also find that some of your customers are willing to have their photo taken with you. This tells site visitors you have real customers who know, like and trust you enough to put their neck on the line. Because they provided a testimonial and a photo.
This requires a high level of trust from the customer who provides the photo, so it won’t happen often. But when it does, treat those customers with the respect they deserve.
We’re famous in our industry images
Do you have any images of you at industry events or trade shows? What about photos of you with respected members of your industry? Have you won any industry awards or accolades you could show?
Any images that show you are trusted and respected in your industry might make a good addition to your website.
We support our local community images
Are you involved in any charity or philanthropic work? Would telling your customers about that work help tip the balance in your favor?
If it would, show those images on your website. But! Think carefully how you word this part of your page. Don’t make your customers think they pay extra to fund your pet charity.
Don’t break the law and don’t embarrass or upset your customers.
Before putting images on your website, make sure you have the legal right to use them. Also, get permission from people who appear in the images.
If you use photos that include identifiable images, such as before and after images from a home cleaning service, make sure you have permission to show those images.
