The Genesis Framework
The Genesis Framework is a WordPress parent theme, it contains most of the code, the child theme dictates the style. To build a Genesis powered website, you first install the Genesis Framework. You do not activate Genesis. You install and activate a Genesis child theme, the Genesis Sample theme is a free Genesis child theme.
Genesis Blocks
Genesis Blocks is a page builder plugin for the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg). I built the rows and columns on this page using Genesis Blocks plugin. Genesis Blocks plugin includes full web page templates and individual page sections. You can apply these templates to your own web pages with one click.
The Genesis Framework and Genesis Sample theme are free. Genesis Blocks plugin is free. Genesis Pro is premium bundle of StudioPress themes and additional Genesis Blocks page templates.
